A: All we need is the letter of invitation and we will schedule an appearance. Q: What is it like to be Miss Navajo Nation?
A: It is a challenge of your character. This crown is heavy mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Every day has challenges but the smile on our little kids’ face and words of encouragement from our elderly has no comparison.


Q: Why did you want to be Miss Navajo Nation?
A: I challenged myself to do two years of community service when I got out of college. So what better way to do community service then for your people? And, someday, I would like to see my name on the Miss Navajo Nation list “2007-2008 Jonathea D. Tso of Cove Arizona“. To belong to a rich legacy of Navajo Women is unimaginable.

A: Crown weighs 0.98 lbs.


Q: When is the Miss Navajo Nation 2008-2009 Pageant?
A: Contestants arrive in Window Rock (AZ) 5pm on August 31, 2008. Competition begins Monday thru Saturday September 1-6, 2008. Butchering Contest Monday, September 1, 2008 at Fry Bread Pavilion.Coronation at Navajo Nation Fair Grounds on Saturday, September 6, 2008 6pm-8pm.


Q: Miss Navajo Nation Pageant Application Deadline?
A: Saturday August 2, 2008 by 5pm at the Office of Miss Navajo Nation located at the Navajo Nation Museum in Window Rock, AZ. ABSOLUTELY NO LATE ADMISSTIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.


Q: Should I run for Miss Navajo Nation?
A: Yes, we are looking for young women with the ability to try. Positive attitude plus the willingness to learn is the formula for the next Miss Navajo Nation. We will also be hosting Miss Navajo Nation Pageant days to help future contestants with what to expect during the pageant.


Q: Do you get paid as Miss Navajo Nation?
A: Yes. Housing and utilities are also paid for by the Office of Miss Navajo Nation. Miss Navajo Nation is a salary position, health benefits, transportation for offical business is provided, appartment is paid for and furnished. Scholarship upon completion of reign, undergraduate $7,000 and graduate $15,000. This is a wonderful opportunity to serve your Dine people and learn about our Navajo Nation.
